omg, you guys, have you heard the latest rumors about a new lord of the rings game? apparently, crystal dynamics, the devs behind the tomb raider series, might be working on it too. this is huge news, especially since we just found out that warhorse studios, the ones who made kingdom come, are also supposedly creating a lord of the rings game.



i'm a bit skeptical about this, though. crystal dynamics already has two new tomb raider games in the works, legacy of atlantis and catalyst, which are set to release in 2026 and 2027. that's a lot of projects to juggle, especially since the studio has had some layoffs recently. but at the same time, crystal dynamics has a great track record with action-adventure games, so it's possible they could pull it off.



apparently, insider gaming reached out to the devs and the publisher, embracer, but they're not commenting on the rumors just yet. warhorse studios, on the other hand, is still recruiting workers for a mystery game, and it's probably still a good bet that they're working on a lord of the rings game too. it's also possible that embracer is working on multiple lord of the rings projects at once, which would be amazing.

preorders are available at major retailers, but we don't have any concrete info on the game itself just yet. i'm really hoping we get some kind of announcement soon, because i'm dying to know more about this game. the lord of the rings series is so iconic and beloved, and i think it would be an amazing opportunity for crystal dynamics or warhorse studios to put their own spin on it. fingers crossed we get some news soon.
