omg, you guys, have you checked out the latest variant dungeon in final fantasy 14? it's literally so good, but i'm kinda frustrated that the rewards aren't living up to the hype. i mean, the dungeon itself is stunning - the merchant's tale is like a work of art, with this gorgeous painterly style that feels like it was ripped straight from genshin impact.

i'm totally in love with the bosses in this dungeon, too. there's this hilarious genie who keeps throwing a magic carpet at you, and a super cool swordsman who duels you on horseback. and then there's this creepy mermaid who rides around on a giant spear, surrounded by all these weird ocean creatures. it's so much fun to play through, and the fights are actually challenging but not impossible.

one of the things that's really standing out to me is the new midcore difficulty level, which they're calling "advanced". it's perfect for playing with a friend or two, because it's hard enough to require some strategy and teamwork, but not so hard that you need a whole team of super experienced players. it's like the perfect sweet spot between a normal raid and an extreme one.

i'm so glad that square enix is finally starting to get it together with their updates, too. the release schedule is still a bit slow, but at least there's always something new to look forward to now. and the deep dungeon is way more accessible than it used to be, which is awesome. but, like i said, the rewards are still kinda lacking. i mean, come on, can't we just get some decent loot for beating these tough dungeons?
