omg, you guys, i am so hyped about the latest news on final fantasy 14. apparently, the patch 7.5 site just dropped, and it's giving us some major hints about where the game is headed next. i mean, we're still in the midst of the dawntrail expansion, but it looks like we might be taking a trip back to the void soon.



i've been a bit meh about the dawntrail storyline so far, to be honest. it's been feeling a bit self-contained, but i knew that couldn't last forever. and now, with the interdimensional key in our possession, it seems like we're on the cusp of something big. the patch 7.5 site is showing off some new dungeon and raid content, including a boss fight against an ahriman that's taken over a garlean mech. it's all very intriguing, and i love the sound of the raid's flavour text - "wielding the boundless power of the void, they rise from depths unfathomable" - it gives me chills.



so, it seems like we're headed back to the void, which is pretty cool. i mean, we thought we'd wrapped up the thirteenth's storyline back in the endwalker patch quests, but it looks like there's still more to explore. and the best part is, this isn't even the last story quest before the next expansion - we've got a patch 7.55 coming later this year, which will presumably set the stage for whatever's coming next. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm ready to commit just yet.
