omg, you guys, i just heard about the most intense drama going on in the gaming world right now. so, the director of the upcoming far cry tv show, noah hawley, basically said that game stories are kinda... pointless. like, what even is that? i get that he's trying to make a point about how games and tv shows are different, but come on, that's just harsh.

apparently, hawley thinks that games are all about the gameplay and the cutscenes are just, like, filler or something. and i'm over here thinking, um, no, the story is what makes the game for me. i mean, sure, some people might skip the cutscenes, but that doesn't mean the story isn't important. and don't even get me started on how much i love the narrative in games like resident evil requiem. it's like, half the reason i play them.

so, the director of far cry 4, alex hutchinson, is totally calling out hawley for his comments. and i am here. for. it. hutchinson is all about how gamers want their stories to be respected, not dismissed like they're nothing. and i couldn't agree more. i mean, we're not just playing games for the gameplay, we're playing for the experience, the story, the characters... all of it.
