so, you guys might've heard about this extraction shooter called the cube, save us - it's like, a post-apocalyptic game where you have to extract resources and stuff. anyway, it's kinda sad because it just launched three weeks ago and now it's already shutting down. i mean, i wasn't really into it myself, but it's always a bummer when a game doesn't make it.

apparently, the game had a pretty decent start with over 5,000 players on steam at one point, but it just didn't keep people interested. the player count dropped really quickly, and the reviews on steam are mostly negative. like, some people are even calling it a cash grab, which is pretty harsh. i guess it's not surprising that it's shutting down, but it's still a shame for the devs who worked on it.

the devs are being pretty cool about it, though - they're giving full refunds to players who bought the game on steam, which is nice. they're also thanking the players who did enjoy the game and saying they'll never forget the memories they shared. it's nice to see them being all classy about it, even if the game didn't work out. the game is set to officially close on may 8, so if you're curious, you can still check it out before then.

i'm not really sure what went wrong with the cube, save us - maybe it was just a bit too similar to other extraction shooters out there, or maybe it just didn't have enough content to keep people interested. either way, it's a reminder that the gaming industry can be pretty tough, and even with a good idea, things don't always work out. preorders aren't really relevant anymore, since the game is shuttingRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
