so, you guys know i'm super into dune: awakening, and i just found out that they're finally making some major changes to the pvp system. basically, they're getting rid of mandatory pvp in the deep desert and shipwreck areas, which is a huge win for people like me who just want to focus on the story and exploration.

i mean, don't get me wrong, pvp can be super intense and fun, but it's not really my thing. and from what i've seen, a lot of other players feel the same way. apparently, over 80% of players are only interested in pve content, which is pretty wild. so, it makes sense that funcom is shifting their focus to make the game more pve-friendly. they're even adding separate pvp and pve instances for endgame players, which is a great way to cater to both types of players.

one of the things that's always bugged me about dune: awakening is the way pvp zones are just kind of... tossed into the mix. like, you'll be exploring this beautiful desert landscape, and then suddenly you're in a pvp zone and people are trying to kill you. it's just super jarring. so, i'm really stoked that they're getting rid of that and making pvp more optional. it feels like they're finally listening to player feedback and making changes that will make the game more enjoyable for everyone.

funcom is also adding some new features, like self-hosted servers, which sounds like it could be really cool. and they're working on some bigger changes, including new gameplay loops and rewards for pvp players. so, even though pvp is becoming more optional, it's not like they're abandoningRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
