omg, you guys, have you heard the latest rumors about arkane, the studio behind dishonored? apparently, microsoft is thinking of shutting them down, along with four other studios, as part of some big "reset" plan. this is majorly upsetting, since arkane is responsible for some of my favorite games ever.



i'm still trying to wrap my head around this news, but supposedly arkane lyon, the french branch of the studio, is still working on that cool-looking blade game based on the marvel character. i mean, we didn't see it at the xbox games showcase, which got some people worried that it was cancelled, but thankfully that's not the case. i'm super excited to see how this game turns out, since the concept art looks insane.



i'm a bit confused, though - if microsoft is planning to shut down arkane, does that mean the blade game will still get released? and what about the other games that arkane was working on? i hope they at least get to finish what they started before anything drastic happens. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i want to commit to buying it yet, given all the uncertainty surrounding the studio.

as a huge fan of arkane's games, this news is really disappointing. i love their unique style and gameplay, and i think they bring something special to the gaming world. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that somehow, someway, they'll manage to avoid getting shut down and keep making amazing games for us to enjoy. deathloop, in particular, was such a standout title, and i'd hate to see the studio that made it disappear.
