omg, have you guys heard about the death stranding movie that's supposedly in the works? it's being directed by michael sarnoski, who's also worked on a quiet place: day one, and i'm low-key super excited to see how it turns out. the fact that it's being produced by a24, who are basically killing the game with their video game adaptations, is a major plus in my book.

so, apparently sarnoski is currently writing the script and is almost done with it, which means we might be seeing some actual progress on the movie front soon. he's been working with hideo kojima, the creator of the death stranding series, and it sounds like they're getting along pretty well. kojima seems to be really into cinema, which is pretty cool, and sarnoski is all about exploring the themes of connection and expression that are central to the games.

one thing that's got me a bit curious is that sarnoski has mentioned that the movie is going to be "very much its own thing" - which, on the one hand, is great because it means we'll get to see a fresh take on the death stranding universe. on the other hand, it's a bit worrying that it might not stay true to the spirit of the games. still, he's also teased that we might see some characters from the games make an appearance, which would be a total dream come true for fans of the series.

preorders aren't available for the movie yet, obviously, since it's still in production - but i'm definitely keeping an eye out for any updates. it's also worth noting that there's an animated death stranding movie in the works, courtesy of aaron guzikRead more: Full article on www.eurogamer.net
