so i just found out that dbrand had to ditch their companion cube skin for the steam machine, which is kinda sad because it sounded like a really cool idea. apparently, they didn't get permission from valve first, so it's not going to happen. but, they've got a backup plan that's actually pretty sweet.



dbrand just released a bunch of steam machine skins, and they're all really different and unique. some of them are pretty pricey, like the "touch grass" skin that's actually fuzzy, or the "real black leather" wrap, which are both 60 bucks. but they've also got some cheaper options that are around 35 dollars, which is more my style. i'm really into the "cotton candy" skin, it's so cute and colorful.



i have to say, though, some of the advertising copy on their website is kinda off-putting. they're making jokes about hair loss and stuff, which just doesn't seem funny to me. but, i guess that's just part of their brand personality or whatever. anyway, the skins themselves seem really cool, and they're supposed to be scratch-proof, which is a major plus. and, if you need to remove them or swap them out, they won't leave any sticky residue behind, which is nice.



if you're looking to customize your steam machine, these skins might be a good option. they're also releasing similar skins for the steam controller, which is awesome if you want a matching set. but, if you're not feeling the skins, you can also try customizing your hardware in other ways. valve has released the cad files for the steam controller and puck, so you can get creative and make your own custom designs. it's a pretty cool way toRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
