oh my gosh, you guys, i just found out about this crazy elden ring cutscene that was never actually in the game, but was hidden in the files. apparently, it's a scene with miquella, who's like this super mysterious character in the game, and it shows him planting a haligtree sapling and watering it with his own blood. i mean, that's just wild.



i don't know about you, but i'm obsessed with the lore in elden ring, and this cutscene just adds to the mystery of miquella's character. it takes place in a version of malenia's boss room, which is already a pretty significant location in the game. and get this - miquella's voice sounds totally different in this scene, more childlike and feminine. i'm not sure if it's the same voice actor, but it's definitely intriguing.



so, supposedly this cutscene would have played when you got a part of the dectus medallion from gideon ofnir at roundtable hold. it's like, a little teaser for the haligtree subplot, which is already so complex and fascinating. the voice lines are pretty FromSoft-esque, all cryptic and poetic. miquella says stuff like "let all things flourish, whether graceful or malign" - it's just so typical of the game's writing style.
