so i just heard about this new dark fantasy vampire rpg called the blood of dawnwalker, and i am super stoked. it's coming out later this year, which is awesome because i've been craving a good rpg to sink my teeth into. what's really cool about this game is that it has a freeform structure, which means you can basically play it however you want.

from what i've read, the game is so open-ended that you can actually beat it right away if you're skilled enough. i love that kind of freedom in a game - it's like the developers are trusting you to make your own fun. plus, the game's director has been talking about how important it is to have human creativity in game development, which i totally agree with. it's nice to know that this game was made with love and care, rather than just being churned out with some fancy tech.

one thing that's got me a bit curious is that the game's main musical theme sounds similar to the witcher 3's. not that that's a bad thing - i loved the witcher 3's soundtrack - but it's interesting that they'd draw inspiration from another game like that. apparently the director used to work on the witcher 3, so maybe that's why. anyway, i'm excited to see how the blood of dawnwalker turns out, especially since it's going to be competing with other big rpgs like fable later this year.
