i just stumbled upon this really interesting game called crymelight, and i'm already pretty hyped about it. it's basically a roguelike action game with a hades-esque vibe, but the twist is that it's set in this dark, twisted version of alice in wonderland. like, imagine if wonderland was actually the afterlife, and alice had to fight her way through it to gain her freedom - it's a pretty cool concept.

the game's visuals are definitely worth talking about - they're super whimsical and reminiscent of those old pop-up books, but with a slightly warped and eerie tone. the environments and characters all have this nostalgic, picturebook feel to them, but it's also clear that the game isn't afraid to get a little dark and weird. i mean, the story is all about alice facing her sins and taking down the queen of hearts, so it's not exactly a lighthearted game.

from what i've seen, the gameplay looks pretty fast-paced and action-packed, with alice slicing and dicing her way through hordes of enemies. there's also this deckbuilder-like system where you build hands of cards to give yourself different abilities and power-ups - it's kind of like a poker game, but with magic powers instead of cards. and if that's not enough, there's also this "repentance system" where alice can confess her sins and turn them into power-up items. it's all a bit hard to wrap my head around, but it sounds like it could be pretty cool.
