omg, you guys, creative assembly just dropped some major news about total war: medieval 3 - they've confirmed the first six playable factions and i am so hyped. the game is looking like it's going to be a total blast, with a complex world full of schemers, killers, feudal giants, and emerging empires. i mean, who doesn't love a good medieval drama?

so, the starting factions are going to be the kingdoms of france and england, the kingdom of jerusalem, the sultanate of rum (which is basically the beginning of the ottoman empire), the byzantine empire, and the holy roman empire. these are all, like, the big names in medieval history, right? i'm not exactly a history buff, but even i know that these guys were major players back in the day. and i love that they're all so unique and stuff - france and england can duke it out over who gets to be the posh one, while the holy roman empire is all about being sporty spice (lol, okay, maybe that's just me).

apparently, creative assembly chose these factions based on a bunch of factors like brand familiarity, uniqueness, and historical significance. they also considered what kind of paths to the endgame each faction could take, and how they'd all interact with each other. it's pretty cool to see how much thought and effort goes into creating a game like this. and, fun fact, the game's world map is going to be pretty similar to medieval 2: total war, covering a huge area from spain to bagdad and from scandinavia to north africa.
