omg you guys, have you heard about za/um, the studio behind disco elysium? they're laying off a huge chunk of their staff, like up to 32 people, and it's all because their new game zero parades didn't sell as well as they hoped. i mean, i know the game got critical acclaim and all, but i guess that wasn't enough to keep the studio afloat.

i'm really sad to hear about this, especially since za/um has been through so much drama already. like, remember all those public feuds and lawsuits between the studio's management and some of the original disco elysium devs? it's been a total mess, and now it seems like the studio is paying the price. apparently, they had around 100 employees last year, and now they're having to cut back because they just can't afford to keep everyone on.

it's not all bad news, though - the studio is still committed to making games, and they're not giving up on their artistic vision or anything. they're just going to have to do it with a smaller team, which is kinda sad. i mean, i love disco elysium, and i was really looking forward to seeing what za/um would do next. now i'm not so sure, but i'm still hoping they'll come out with something amazing despite all the setbacks.
