omg, have you guys heard about thick as thieves? it's this new co-op heist game that's all about sneaking around and stealing stuff, and i am totally here for it. the devs just announced that it's coming out on may 20, which is way sooner than i expected - i thought for sure it would be one of those games that gets pushed back to next year or something.

so, the game is set in this fictional scottish city called kilcairn, and you can play it solo or with a friend. you'll get to choose from two playable thieves, and there are two "dynamic and highly replayable maps" to explore. i'm not totally sure what that means, but it sounds like the game is going to be pretty focused on replayability, with short missions that change every time you play. there are also 16 contracts to take on, which sounds like a decent amount of content to me.

i have to admit, i was a little skeptical when i heard that the game wouldn't have a huge, deep storyline like some of the other games in the thief series. but the devs say that every mechanic and choice in the game has been made with intent, and that nothing is accidental or wasted. that sounds pretty cool to me, and i'm curious to see how it all plays out. plus, there is an underlying narrative to uncover, all about the secrets of the constabulary and the mysteries of the nobility. it's not totally clear how deep it goes, but i'm willing to give it a shot.
