omg, you guys, have you heard about the latest civ game? like, civilization 7 has been out for a bit now, and it's had some pretty mixed reviews. i mean, i love the series, but this one's been kinda weird for me. they changed up the formula with this new "ages" system, where you have to switch civs twice during a campaign, and it's just...different.

i think what's been interesting is that, despite all the controversy, the game's actually been doing pretty well financially. the ceo of take-two, strauss zelnick, said that civ 7's been a "profitable enterprise" for them, which is cool, i guess. but at the same time, he's also admitted that they might've gotten some things wrong. like, the game's not as popular as some of the older ones, and that's kinda sad.

one thing that's coming soon that might change things up is a big update called the "test of time" update. apparently, it's gonna let players switch back to a more classic civ style, which is what a lot of people have been asking for. i'm kinda curious to see how that goes, since i did like some of the new features, but at the same time, i can see why people would want to go back to the old way. preorders aren't really a thing for this update, since it's just a patch, but i'm sure we'll all be talking about it once it drops.
