ok so i just heard that christopher nolan is super stoked about the whole backrooms thing, and i'm kinda loving his take on it. basically, he thinks that younger people are totally over ai and all the fake stuff it brings to the table. and honestly, i'm right there with him - there's just something about real, practical effects that you can't replicate with fancy tech.



i mean, have you seen backrooms? it's like this crazy, mysterious world that's just so immersive and real. and it's not just that - the directors, curry barker and nate parsons, are all about practical effects and are actually pretty skeptical of ai in film. it's really cool to see people pushing back against all the ai hype and just focusing on making something genuinely cool and creepy.



nolan's also got some interesting thoughts on how gen z is just not having it when it comes to ai in the arts. he says that his own kids can spot ai-generated stuff from a mile away and are just not impressed. and i think that's really telling - if the people who grew up with the internet and all this tech are already over it, that says a lot about where things are headed.

it's also kinda funny that now, because of all the ai drama, people are actually starting to appreciate more old-school, tactile methods of storytelling. like, written words and stop-motion animation are making a comeback, and it's just really cool to see. it's all about proof of work, you know? people want to know that something is real and authentic, not just some generated nonsense.
