so, you've probably heard the news by now - bethesda is remastering fallout 3 and new vegas, and i'm super hyped about it. but what's even more interesting is how this affects the modding community, specifically the teams behind the capital wasteland project and fallout 4: new vegas. these guys have been working tirelessly to recreate fallout 3 and new vegas in fallout 4, and i've been following their progress for a while now.

i was a bit worried that the official remasters would mean the end of these modding projects, but thankfully, that's not the case. the teams have come out and said that they're going to keep working on their passion projects, despite the official remasters being on the way. i think this is really cool, because it shows just how dedicated these modders are to their craft. they're not just doing it for the sake of doing it, but because they genuinely love the games and want to see their vision come to life.

the capital wasteland project, in particular, has been making some incredible progress over the years. they've already released a recreation of fallout 3's point lookout dlc, complete with full worldspace and quests, which is just mind-blowing. and they've been regularly releasing little tidbits, like standalone weapons and object replacers, which just shows how much attention to detail they're putting into this project. fallout 4: new vegas, on the other hand, has been a bit quieter, but they've still been releasing some awesome content, like standalone versions of the mod's guns.
