so, you know who bennett foddy is, right? he's the genius behind those super frustrating but addictive games like qwop and getting over it. i mean, who else could make a game about running or hiking and turn it into a rage-inducing experience that's somehow still fun? anyway, it turns out he's just as obsessed with weird games as we are, and his pc is full of all sorts of hidden gems.

apparently, foddy's been playing this old roguelike game called brogue, which is basically a more automated version of nethack. he loves it because it's easy to play when you're feeling lazy, and it's just really good at sucking you in even when you're not trying that hard. i can relate, tbh - sometimes i just want to play something that doesn't require too much brain power, you know? and brogue sounds like the perfect game for that.

but what's really cool is that foddy's also been experimenting with making his own games, even when he's not working on a big project. he mentions trying to make a two-player version of brogue, but it didn't really work out. i think it's awesome that he's still messing around with game development even when he's not trying to make a big release. it just shows how much he loves games, you know?
