so, you've probably heard the news about battlefield 6 getting a server browser with persistent servers - which is kinda weird, because doesn't it already have one? i mean, i know the current one is pretty meh, but still. apparently, the new browser is supposed to be part of the game's updates for the rest of 2026, along with some other cool stuff like more large maps and the return of naval warfare.

one of the things that's got me curious is what exactly this new server browser will look like. will it replace the current portal browser, or will it be something entirely new? and what about these "persistent servers" - does that mean we'll finally be able to join official servers from a list, like we could in older battlefield games? i'm a bit skeptical, to be honest, since ea was pretty confident about the current server browser before launch, and we all know how that turned out.

i'm also wondering how this new server browser will intersect with the custom lobbies feature that's supposed to be coming in season 4. will they be related, or will they be two separate things? and what about the whole process of setting up portal servers - will that get any easier? right now, it's a bit of a pain, and the rules around bots and xp can be pretty restrictive. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're interested in checking out the game for yourself.

anyway, i'm definitely keeping an eye on this one - i love battlefield, and i'm always down for some good multiplayer action. but i'm also a bit cautious, given the game's history with server browsers and whatnot. fingers crossed that ea will actually deliver on their promises this time, and we'llRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
