so, you know how sometimes you see those super expensive graphics cards with melting power connectors and you're just like, what's going on there? it's pretty common, unfortunately, and it's been a problem for a while now. but asus thinks they've found a solution with their new rog equalizer cable. it looks like a regular premium power cable, but supposedly it's designed to prevent those melting issues.

i'm actually pretty excited about this, because i've seen some of my friends deal with this problem and it's just so frustrating. the rog equalizer is supposed to balance out the current delivery from the power supply to the graphics card, so you don't get situations where one little pin is trying to handle way too much power. and if something does go wrong, the cable is rated for a pretty high current draw, so it should be able to handle it.

one of the cool things about the rog equalizer is that it's not just limited to asus power supplies. it uses standard connectors, so you can use it with pretty much any power supply that has a 12v-2x6 socket. and if you do happen to have an asus rog thor 3 or rog strix psu, you can even plug in an extra cable to get some extra features. asus is also planning to update their gpu tweak iii software to include a special "rog equalizer mode" that will let you monitor the current draw in real-time.

i think it's pretty great that asus is trying to tackle this problem, and the fact that you don't need to buy a super expensive asus power supply to use the rog equalizer is a big plus. preorders are available at major retailers, although there's no word on the price yet.Read more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
