so i just got done reading about assassin's creed black flag resynced and how it runs on the steam deck and steam machine. i'm super stoked about this because, let's be real, who doesn't love a good pirate game? and the fact that it's been revamped for these newer devices is pretty cool.

apparently, the steam deck can handle the game pretty smoothly, which isn't too surprising since it's already got the steam deck verified badge. but what's really interesting is that the steam machine can also run it pretty well, even with some fancy settings like ray tracing. i mean, i've heard of the steam machine being a pretty powerful device, but it's still nice to see it in action.

one thing that's kinda annoying is that the steam version of the game might not have all the same graphics options as the ubisoft connect version. like, i get that it's not a huge deal, but it's still nice to have control over how the game looks and runs. and from what i've read, it's possible to get the ubisoft connect version working on the steam deck, but it's a bit of a hassle. you have to install the connect launcher and then set it up to work with the steam deck's controls, which can be a bit finicky.

in terms of actual performance, it seems like the game can run pretty smoothly on the steam deck, especially if you're willing to tweak some of the settings. like, there are these handheld presets that are supposed to be optimized for portable devices, but they're not really necessary if you're playing on the steam deck. you can actually crank up some of the settings and still get a pretty solid framerate, which is nice. and if you're playing on the steam machineRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
