so, you've probably heard that the new call of duty black ops 1 and 2 ports are out on ps4 and ps5, and yeah, they're super popular right now. but, as expected, all the hackers and modded lobbies from the old days are back and ruining the experience for everyone else. i mean, who thought it was a good idea to release these games without fixing the old problems first?

i've been reading about all the issues on social media and the call of duty subreddit, and it's pretty crazy. hackers are using exploits to level up instantly, demote other players, and even see through walls. it's not just a few isolated cases either - it's happening in a lot of different playlists, like ground war and domination. activision finally stepped in and disabled those playlists on monday, but they're already back up and running with some temporary fixes in place.

apparently, the problem is that these games don't have dedicated servers, so they're using the old peer-to-peer model where each match is hosted on one player's console. that makes it way too easy for hackers to cheat and mess with other players. and, to make things worse, players can modify their save files on ps4 and then upload them to ps5, which means the cheats can work across both consoles. it's like, what's the point of even playing if you can just cheat your way to the top?
