omg, you guys, have you heard about the drama going on at compulsion games? they're the studio behind those super stylized games like we happy few and south of midnight. apparently, a bunch of staff members just left the company, and it's got everyone wondering what's going on. i mean, we happy few was a bit of a trip, but south of midnight is just gorgeous - it's like a dark, musical dream.

so, from what i've seen, at least a dozen people have left compulsion games in the past week. some of them have even posted about it on linkedin, saying they're suddenly looking for work. it's not entirely clear what's happening, but it seems like there's some pretty significant disruption going on at the studio. i'm a bit worried about what this means for the future of compulsion games - they're a really talented team, and it would be a shame if they got broken up.

i did some digging, and it looks like compulsion games has around 111 people working there, according to linkedin. but the credits for south of midnight list 115 internal staff, so it's possible that some people are still employed there. it's just really unclear what's going on, and it's making me a bit nervous. especially since there are rumors that microsoft is planning some major layoffs across their xbox division - and compulsion games is one of the studios that might be in danger.
