omg, you guys, i just heard about the upcoming zen 6 server processors from amd and i am so hyped. apparently, they're going to have some major performance boosts, which has me hopeful for the desktop chips that are supposed to drop later this year or early next year. i mean, who doesn't love the idea of more powerful and efficient chips, right?



so, from what i've gathered, the new zen 6 core is supposed to have higher ipc, higher frequency, and all that jazz, which adds up to a pretty significant performance increase - we're talking up to 1.8x more than the previous gen. now, i know that's a pretty big claim, and i'm not entirely sure what it's based on, but it sounds promising to me. and the best part is, if this does translate to the desktop chips, we could be looking at some serious gains in terms of instructions per clock, which is basically just a fancy way of saying our computers will be able to do more stuff, faster.



i'm also loving the fact that amd shared their roadmap for future server chips, which gives us a rough idea of what to expect from the desktop lineup. apparently, zen 7 is coming in 2027, and zen 8 is coming in 2028, which means we can probably expect a new batch of desktop chips every year or so. that's a pretty fast pace, if you ask me, but i'm not complaining - the more often they release new chips, the sooner we'll get to see some serious advancements in tech.
