so i just heard that the amazon head of tv wants to rewrite the mass effect show to make it more appealing to non-gamers. i'm not sure how to feel about this, to be honest. on one hand, it's kinda cool that they want to make the show accessible to everyone, not just fans of the games. but on the other hand, i'm worried that they're going to lose the magic of what makes mass effect so special in the first place.

i mean, think about it - the mass effect games are all about exploration, combat, and making choices that affect the story. how are they going to translate that into a tv show? it's not like they can just make it a bunch of people standing around talking, that would be so boring. and if they try to cram in too many references to the games, it's going to feel like they're just trying too hard. i've seen it happen before with other adaptations, where they're so focused on pleasing the fans that they forget to make a good story.

i guess what i'm saying is, i'm a bit skeptical about this rewrite. i want the mass effect show to be good, i really do. but i don't want it to be some watered-down version of the games that's just trying to appeal to everyone. i want it to be its own thing, with its own unique story and characters. and if they can pull that off, then i'll be happy. but for now, i'm just going to have to wait and see what happens.

preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm going to bother just yet. i'll probably wait until i see some more reviews and trailers before i decide if it's worth my timeRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
