so i just heard about the new alienware 15 laptop and i'm kinda disappointed, to be honest. it's supposed to be their "budget" option, but it doesn't really feel like it. i mean, the specs are just okay, and the price is still pretty steep. it's got an rtx 3050, which is last gen's tech, and it's not even that cheap - in the uk, it's £979, which is just wow.

i guess what's really weird about this laptop is that it looks more like a dell gaming laptop than an alienware one. it's just so... corporate. and the fact that they're using single channel memory across the board is kinda concerning. i know memory prices are crazy right now, but come on, can't they do better than that? it's not like it's going to make a huge difference in games or anything, but it's still a bit of a bummer.

so, the laptop's got a few different config options, but they're all pretty pricey. in the us, the cheapest one starts at $1,300, and it's got an rtx 4050 and an amd cpu. if you want to upgrade to the rtx 5050, that's $1,500, and if you want the rtx 5060, you're looking at $2,290. and all of these options have single channel memory, which is just... ugh. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're still interested in picking one up.

i don't know, maybe i'm just being too harsh. maybe this laptop is actually really great and i'm just not seeing it. but from what i can tell, it just seems like alienwareRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
