one of the most interesting things i read was that ai-optimized servers are going to account for 31% of data center power consumption this year, and that's going to grow by 47.8% by 2027. that's way more than regular servers, which are only expected to grow by 2.4% in 2027. it's crazy to think about how much power these ai servers are going to be using, and it makes me wonder what kind of impact that's going to have on the environment. and it's not just the power consumption itself, but also the fact that a lot of data centers are built in places that require a lot of temperature control, which uses even more energy.
