omg, you guys, the elder scrolls 6 news is getting juicy! so, xbox ceo asha sharma recently dropped a major tease about the game's subtitle, and now fans think they've figured out the full name - and it's been hiding in plain sight in starfield all along. i mean, i'm all about a good mystery, and this one has me hooked.

apparently, sharma's tease included a bunch of asterisks that got everyone speculating about the subtitle. some people thought it might be dominion, covenant, or even skyrim 2 (which, let's be real, would be a bit of a weird title). but the leading theory right now is that the subtitle is "sentinel", which just so happens to be a major city in the elder scrolls' region of hammerfell. i've gotta say, i'm kind of loving the sound of that - it's all dark and edgy, you know?

so, how did fans figure this out? well, it turns out that the starfield character creator has a 16-digit employee number at the bottom of the screen, and when you break it down into pairs and map each pair to a letter of the alphabet, you get... "sentinel"! i know, i know, it sounds like a bit of a stretch, but apparently some players picked up on this three years ago and even posted about it on reddit. and now, former bethesda writer and designer michael kirkbride has chimed in to say that the sentinel theory is probably the real deal.
