so, you know when a game just kinda... sticks around in early access forever? that's basically what's been happening with scrap mechanic, a super cool survival game where you build all sorts of crazy machines and robots. it's been in early access for over 10 years now, which is just wild. i mean, i've seen games come and go in that amount of time, but scrap mechanic is still trucking along.

anyway, the big news is that scrap mechanic is finally leaving early access and hitting 1.0 on july 24th. i'm really curious to see what this means for the game, because from what i've heard, the devs have been working on some big changes. apparently, we can expect a major graphical upgrade, which is exciting, and some new stuff for the survival mode. i'm not entirely sure what that entails, but i'm hoping it'll add some fresh challenges to the game.

i checked out the trailer, and it looks like we can expect some pretty cool new features. there's this giant machine that looks super intimidating, and some kind of battle arena thingy. oh, and drones that drop loot, which sounds like a fun way to scavenge for parts. the update is called "drilling thunder", so i'm guessing those drills are going to play a big role in it. i love the idea of building my own robots and machines, and scrap mechanic seems like the perfect game for that.
