omg, you guys, subnautica 2 is finally getting an early access release date after all the drama that's been going on behind the scenes. i mean, it's been a whole year of legal stuff and it's crazy to think about how much has happened. the game's publisher, krafton, got in trouble for trying to take control of the company away from the people who actually made the game.

so, the judge finally stepped in and was like "no, krafton, you can't just do that" and now the original team is back in charge. it's pretty wild to think about how much of an impact this had on the game's development, but it seems like everything is back on track now. subnautica 2 is going to have some really cool features, like a new procedural base building system that lets you customize your underwater home.

one of the coolest things i've seen so far is the dive elevator, which makes it so much easier to explore the ocean with your friends. and don't worry, the devs have promised that the multiplayer mode won't mess up the single player experience, which is a huge relief. i'm really excited to dive in (get it, dive?) and see what all the fuss is about. preorders are available at major retailers, so you can already get ready to jump in when it comes out.
