omg, you guys, star trek online is like, 16 years old now, and i'm still kinda shocked it's been around for that long. i mean, i've been playing it on and off since i was like, 10 or something, and it's always been a super fun way to explore the star trek universe. but anyway, this year is also the 60th anniversary of star trek itself, which is just wild.

so, apparently the devs at cryptic studios are trying some new stuff out, which i'm really excited about. their old ceo, jack emmert, is back in charge, and he's all about trying new things and pushing the boundaries of what they can do. i've heard that the new undiscovered update is a big part of this, with a remade storyline and some revamped deep space encounters that are supposed to make sector space more interesting. i'm definitely down to check it out and see what's new.

one of the coolest things about this update is that it's got some familiar faces - like, two characters from voyager are back, voiced by the same actors from the show. and, of course, there are some new rewards and stuff to collect, because what's an mmo without loot, right? but what's really interesting is that the devs are trying to make the game feel more alive, like it's worth exploring and playing around in. they want to make sector space feel like a real place, not just something you fly through to get to the next quest.

i've been reading some interviews with the devs, and it sounds like they're really passionate about trying new things and taking risks. they don't want to just keep doing the same old same old, they want to mix it upRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
