so, you guys know how overwatch has that crazy mode called stadium, right? it's like a moba version of the game where you can create these insane builds with items and powers that totally change up your hero's abilities. i was super into it when it first came out, but apparently, not that many people are playing it anymore. like, only 3% of players are queuing up for unranked or ranked stadium, which is pretty wild considering how popular the game is.

apparently, blizzard has decided to stop adding new heroes and maps to stadium because of the low player count. they're still going to do seasonal balance updates and all that, but they're not going to be putting as much effort into it as they used to. it's kinda sad, because i loved playing stadium and trying out all the different builds and strategies. but at the same time, i get it - if not that many people are playing, it's hard to justify putting a ton of resources into it.

i'm a bit surprised that blizzard isn't just deleting stadium altogether, though. i mean, it's not like it's a huge part of the game or anything, but it's still a pretty cool mode that offers something different from the regular gameplay. and who knows, maybe they'll still find ways to incorporate some of the stadium features into the rest of the game. we've already seen them take some inspiration from it with the perks system, which is actually really cool.
