omg, you guys, have you heard about the new game studio founded by some former bioware devs? they're called studio reset and they're working on this really cool sounding game that's all about solving supernatural mysteries in a stylized canadian city. i mean, who wouldn't want to play a game like that? it's like they took all the best parts of a detective game and added in some spooky magic stuff.

so, the studio is made up of kaelin lavallée, kris schoneberg, and francis lacuna, all of whom used to work at bioware on games like mass effect and anthem. but they're not trying to make some huge, blockbuster game or anything. instead, they want to focus on making smaller, more personal games that are all about the player's experience. they're all about being sustainable and making games that are "shaped around the players they are made for", which sounds really cool to me.

one of the things that really stands out about this game is the way it's going to handle puzzles and mystery solving. the devs are talking about something called "parallax deduction", which is all about how different characters have different perspectives on the same mystery. it's like, each character has their own unique way of looking at the evidence and solving the puzzle, and that's what makes the game so interesting. they're also trying to avoid those annoying "moon logic" puzzles that are just frustrating and arbitrary.
