so i just heard that someone's making a pc port of silent hill: downpour, and i'm actually kinda stoked about it. this game originally came out on the xbox 360 and playstation 3, but it never made its way to pc, which is a bummer because i've always wanted to play it on my laptop. the port is being made by indie_ru, and it's not just a lazy conversion - they're actually restoring some cut content that never made it into the original game.

one of the coolest things about this port is that it's going to include a bunch of deleted cutscenes, notes, and dialogue that were left on the cutting room floor. there's even a boss battle that was seen in an early trailer, but never made it into the final game - it's against this creepy guy called the "monocle man" who was reduced to a cameo in the original. i'm really curious to see how this fight plays out, and i'm hoping it's going to be a challenging and terrifying experience.

i have to admit, i've always had a bit of a soft spot for silent hill: downpour. it's not the best game in the series, but it has some really cool ideas and a haunting atmosphere that's perfect for a creepy night in. the sidequests are especially great, and i love how they're all these little self-contained stories that add to the overall sense of mystery and unease. the one where you follow color-coded ribbons to find out what happened to a missing girl is still one of my favorites - it's just so eerie and unsettling.

anyway, the pc port of silent hill: downpour is supposed to be coming out in september or october, which is pretty exciting. it'sRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
