so i just heard that joe ziegler, the game director of marathon, is leaving bungie after a month of major changes at the studio. this is pretty big news, especially since bungie just had a bunch of layoffs and is gearing up for a mid-season update for the game. i'm a bit worried about what this means for marathon, but at the same time, it's kinda exciting to think about what's next.

from what i've read, joe ziegler seems to be leaving on good terms, and he's passing on the torch to del chafe iii, who's been working as the assistant game director. apparently, del chafe is super capable and will be working alongside the creative director, julia nardin, to take marathon to the next level. i'm not super familiar with del chafe's work, but if joe ziegler thinks he's the right person for the job, then that's good enough for me.

i'm also curious about what joe ziegler is moving on to next - he mentioned that he's got a new project in the works, but didn't give any details. i love a good mystery, so i'm gonna be keeping an eye out for any updates on what he's doing next. in the meantime, it seems like marathon is still going strong, with a new pve mode coming out next week as part of the mid-season update. this could be just what the game needs to win over some new fans and keep the existing ones engaged.
