omg, you guys, there's some major drama going down at minds eye, the studio behind the pretty meh game that's been getting a lot of flak lately. apparently, the devs who used to work there are super upset about how they were treated, and it's all getting pretty heated. i mean, who doesn't love a good gaming scandal, right?

so, allegedly, the studio installed some kind of monitoring software on the staff's computers without telling them, which is just sketchy. and to make matters worse, the director, leslie benzies, was super hands-on to the point where the devs started calling bugs "leslies" - yeah, that's not a good sign. it sounds like the whole management thing was a bit of a mess, with the execs accusing the devs of sabotage and whatnot.

it gets even worse, though. the devs are saying that the studio handled layoffs really badly, with some people even getting fired without warning. and, of course, there was the obligatory crunch time, because what's a game dev story without that, right? it's just so not cool when studios treat their devs like that. i mean, we all know game dev can be tough, but come on, you'd think they'd at least try to be decent human beings.

anyway, it seems like the game's launch was a total flop, and now the studio is talking about relaunching it or something. which, honestly, sounds like a bit of a long shot to me. i mean, if it didn't work out the first time, why would it work out the second time around? and to make matters worse, around 300 staff are at risk of being laid off, which is just devastating. preordersRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
