so i just found out that microsoft has been cancelling a bunch of promising games, and honestly, it's pretty disappointing. i mean, who doesn't love the idea of new and exciting games coming out, right? it turns out that microsoft has been laying off thousands of workers from its game studios over the past few years, and now they're cutting even more jobs and closing studios as part of their "xbox reset" plan.

i've been thinking about this a lot, and it seems like microsoft is trying to focus on console exclusives and big-name games like the elder scrolls 6. but at the same time, they're cancelling these really cool projects that were in the works. like, what's the point of having all these talented developers if you're not going to let them make the games they want to make? it's not like microsoft is struggling financially or anything - they're still making billions of dollars.

one of the cancelled games that really caught my eye is odyssey, a survival game that was being developed by blizzard. apparently, it was in development for almost five years before it got the axe, and the devs were really hyped about it. the former blizzard president even said he'd played many hours of the game and was "incredibly excited" about it. it's a shame that we'll never get to see what this game could have been, especially since co-op survival games are still pretty popular.
