so i just read this pretty funny article about mouse mats and how important they are to pc gamers. apparently, 83% of pc gamer readers use a proper mouse pad, which is a pretty big majority. but what's even more interesting is that 15% of readers are just gaming directly on their desktops, no mat or pad in sight - which, honestly, sounds kinda gross to me.

i mean, i've definitely been guilty of using a crappy old mouse mat or just a random piece of paper in the past, but nowadays i'm all about the full desk pad. there's something so satisfying about having a big, smooth surface to game on, and it really adds to the overall aesthetic of my gaming setup. plus, it's just way more comfortable for my mouse and keyboard. according to the article, i'm not alone in this - 43% of pc gamer readers are also fans of the full desk pad.

but, of course, there are some gamers out there who are total rebels and don't use a mouse mat at all. some of them are even using the back of a book or magazine, which just sounds super awkward to me. and then there are the fancy gamers who spring for an expensive glass pad - only 2% of readers, apparently. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're feeling fancy and want to upgrade your gaming setup.
