omg, you guys, i just heard that pillars of eternity is getting a brand new turn-based mode, and i am beyond excited. this game is literally 11 years old, but the devs are still pushing out major updates. i mean, can you think of any other game that's still getting this kind of love over a decade after launch?

anyway, this new mode is a total game-changer. i've been playing with it for a bit, and i have to say, it feels way more tactical and deliberate than the original real-time with pause mechanics. basically, you get to take one action per turn, and that's it - no messing around with action points or anything like that. it sounds kind of restrictive, but trust me, it makes every decision feel super important.

i've been testing it out with an old save, and i have to say, it's a whole new experience. the way the game handles movement and actions is really generous, but like i said, you only get one action per turn, so you have to make it count. and the best part is, you can take multiple turns in one round, which is a major improvement over the turn-based mode in pillars of eternity 2: deadfire. that one was super strict, with each character only getting to act once per round, which could be really punishing for certain builds.
