omg, you guys, i just heard the worst news - another live-service game is biting the dust, and it's barely been out for a month. the cube, save us was supposed to be this cool online extraction shooter, but i guess it didn't quite live up to the hype. the devs, xl games, announced that they're shutting down the game's servers on may 8, which is just so sad.

i mean, i didn't get a chance to play it myself, but from what i've seen, the game just didn't have that much going for it. it launched on march 18 for pc, and while it had a decent first day with over 5,000 players, the numbers just plummeted after that. i've heard the reviews were pretty negative too, which probably didn't help. it's just really disappointing to see a game shut down so soon, you know?

it's not like this is the first time we've seen a live-service game crash and burn, though. there have been so many others that just haven't made it - concord, highguard, and even hawked, which is shutting down later this year. it's just really tough to make a game like that work, i guess. i mean, you need a constant stream of new content and a dedicated player base, or else it's just going to fade away.

i'm a bit worried about the future of live-service games, to be honest. it seems like they're just not as popular as they used to be, and it's getting harder and harder for devs to make them work. but hey, at least the devs of the cube, save us are doing the right thing by giving full refunds to players who bought items on steam.Read more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
