omg, you guys, the xbox network is down right now and i'm freaking out. like, i know it's not just me, but it's still super frustrating. apparently, there are issues with pretty much everything - signing in, accessing the store, playing games, the whole shebang.

i've been trying to get online and play some games with my friends, but nope, it's just not happening. and from what i've seen, it's not just a few people - it's a whole bunch of users across the globe who are experiencing problems. xbox has acknowledged the issues, which is good, i guess. they're saying that their engineers are working on a fix, but they don't know when it'll be sorted out yet.

so, basically, if you're trying to sign in or access your game library, you might be out of luck for now. and it's not just gaming that's affected - the store and apps are also down. it's like, i get that outages happen, but it's still really annoying. especially since this is the second big outage in a week - the playstation network was down last week too.

it's making me think, though - is a digital-only future really the way to go? i mean, when the network is down, you can't even play the games you own. it's like, what's the point of having all these games if you can't access them? and it's not just about the gaming - it's about the principle of owning something and being able to use it whenever you want. preorders are available at major retailers, but like, what's the point if the network is just going to be down all the time?
