omg, you guys, it looks like something huge is coming to xbox next week and i am literally on the edge of my seat. apparently, xbox insiders got a pretty cryptic message from the program lead, brad rossetti, saying that the wait will be worth it, and honestly, that just makes me even more curious.
i've been hearing rumors about a disc-to-digital service for a while now, and it seems like this might be the moment we finally get to see it in action. supposedly, this feature will let us bring our existing game libraries with us, which would be a total lifesaver. i mean, who doesn't have a bunch of old games just collecting dust on a shelf somewhere? being able to switch them to digital would be so convenient.
from what i've gathered, this disc-to-digital thing might be linked to xbox's project helix, which is their next-gen console. but it looks like we might get a sneak peek at the feature before that actually drops. some people are even speculating that project helix might be an all-digital console, which would be a pretty big deal. i'm not sure how i feel about that, to be honest - on the one hand, it would be nice to have all my games in one place, but on the other hand, i do love having physical copies of my favorites.
