so, you guys know how world of warcraft has been having some major issues lately, right? like, it's been around for ages and it's still super popular, but it's just not what it used to be. and apparently, the former president of blizzard, mike ybarra, is feeling the same way. he's been talking about how the game needs a total "reset" to get it back on track.
i'm kinda surprised to hear that ybarra was actually advocating for a whole new game, world of warcraft 2, when he was running blizzard. like, that's a huge deal - it's not just a matter of tweaking a few things here and there, it's a complete overhaul. and from what he's saying, it sounds like he wanted wow to go back to its roots and be more about, well, war. you know, conflict, struggle, risk, reward - all that good stuff that makes a game exciting.
it's interesting to think about what a "reset" would even look like for a game like wow. i mean, it's not like they can just start from scratch and expect all the existing players to be cool with it. but at the same time, it's clear that something needs to change. the recent bugs and issues have been pretty frustrating for a lot of players, and it's hard to see the game continuing on its current path. ybarra's comments are definitely food for thought, and i'm curious to see how the wow community reacts to all this.
anyway, it's not like we can expect a world of warcraft 2 announcement anytime soon or anything. but it's cool to know that there are people out there who care about the game and want to see itRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
