okay, so you guys know how much i love a good pirate game, right? well, it looks like we're finally getting a new one that's all about sailing the high seas and being a total boss on the water. windrose is the name, and it's hitting early access on april 14 - which is, like, super soon.

so, the game is going to be available for $30, which isn't too bad considering all the awesome stuff you get to do in it. i mean, we're talking ship combat, hiring crews, and all sorts of survival elements to keep you on your toes. and the best part? it's all set in this really cool alternate age of piracy, with procedurally generated biomes and hand-crafted dungeons to explore. i'm totally getting a black flag vibe from it, and i am here. for. it.

now, i know some of you are going to be all about the naval combat, and don't worry - windrose has got you covered. you can trade cannon fire, send boarding parties over, and all that jazz. and the best part is that it's all fully playable in solo offline or co-op modes, so you can play with your friends or just chill on your own. the game also has a pretty strong focus on customization, which i love - you can build your own island strongholds, fine-tune your combat, and even choose from a bunch of different vessels to sail around in.

if you're as excited as i am, you can actually grab a demo for windrose right now and try it out for yourself. and if you're feeling extra supportive, you can even spring for the $40 supporter bundle, which comes with some cool sea shanties and all that. preRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
