so, you guys know how much i love playing old call of duty games at the retro arcade, right? well, it looks like the first two black ops games just got ported to ps5 and ps4, but honestly, it's kinda underwhelming. they're charging $40 each for these ports, which is pretty steep considering how old they are. and to make matters worse, the dlc packs are being sold separately, which just feels like a money grab to me.
i mean, i get that some people might still want to play these games, but come on, $40 is a lot to ask for a game that's not even been properly remastered. according to some tech experts, the only real update is that they run at 1080p on ps5 and ps4, which is just...not that impressive. i was expecting at least some improved graphics or a higher framerate, but nope. it's just the same old game with a slightly better resolution. and let's not forget that xbox series x|s owners can get a similar resolution bump for free through backwards compatibility, which just makes this whole thing feel even more overpriced.
it's also worth noting that if you want the complete edition of the game, including the map packs, you're looking at paying $70 per game. although, if you're a playstation plus subscriber, you can get a discount, which brings the price down to $20 per game and $10 per map pack. still, it's a lot to ask for a game that's not really been improved that much. i don't know, maybe i'm just being cheap, but it feels like they're not really giving us much of a reason to rebuy these games.
