so i just saw this post from bruce straley, one of the co-directors of the last of us, and it's got me thinking. basically, he's asking why everyone's so hyped for gta 6, and i'm kinda curious too. i mean, don't get me wrong, rockstar's games are always a big deal, but what's so special about this one?
apparently, straley's not just trying to stir up drama, he's genuinely wondering what's got everyone so excited. he's asking people to share what they're hoping to see in gta 6 that's new and different from the previous games. and i think that's a fair question - i mean, how many times can you play the same old grand theft auto formula before it gets stale? straley's even admitting that he's not sure if he's interested in playing gta 6 himself, which is kinda surprising coming from a gaming industry vet.
some of the responses to straley's post are pretty interesting, though. people are talking about wanting to see more dynamic weather events, like the kind they saw in red dead redemption 2. and straley's actually pretty stoked about that idea, saying it could lead to some really cool dynamic events. someone else suggested a surfing system in gta 6, which sounds like a total blast - can you imagine cruising along the beach, catching some waves, and then suddenly getting into a high-speed chase? that would be so much fun.
