omg, you guys, have you heard the latest about the final fantasy series? with the final fantasy 7 remake trilogy wrapping up next year, everyone's wondering which game is gonna get a modern makeover next. and let's be real, i am totally here for it - i mean, who doesn't love a good remake?
so, apparently, naoki yoshida (the director of final fantasy 14) was talking at the final fantasy fan festival in berlin, and he mentioned that some of the most requested games for a remake would need to be split into multiple games. and i can see why - i mean, final fantasy 6 is a huge game, with like a dozen protagonists and epic battles galore. it's crazy to think that it all fit on an snes cartridge back in the day.
final fantasy 6, 8, and 9 are all pretty massive games, and they'd be super hard to remake without splitting them into multiple parts. yoshida said that if they did remake them, they'd probably have to release them in four or five installments - which, honestly, doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. i mean, can you imagine getting to experience these classic games in a whole new way, with modern graphics and gameplay? it's a pretty exciting prospect.
