omg, you guys, have you heard about the drama surrounding subnautica 2? it's like, this super pretty underwater survival game that i've been low-key obsessing over, and now it's in the middle of a huge publisher mess. apparently, the publisher krafton is no longer listed on the game's steam page, which is pretty wild.
i did some digging and it turns out this change happened on april 7, but it only just got noticed a few days ago. now, the developer unknown worlds is listed as both the dev and publisher, which is kind of a big deal. it's not entirely clear what's going on, but from what i can gather, there's some kind of legal dispute between unknown worlds and krafton, who actually bought the studio back in 2021.
it's worth noting that krafton is still listed as the publisher for another game called moonbreaker, which is also developed by unknown worlds. so, it's not like they're completely cutting ties or anything. but still, this is all pretty messy and i'm curious to see how it plays out. i've reached out to some friends who are into the game to see if they've heard anything, but so far, nobody seems to know what's going on.
preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'd want to jump in just yet, considering all the drama. i mean, i love the look of the game and all, but i don't want to get stuck with some weird publisher issues or delayed release dates. has anyone else been following this story? what do you guys think is going to happen next?
anyway, i just thought this was all pretty interesting and worth sharing. i'llRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
