omg, you guys, the steam machine is literally not even out yet and already people are trying to sell their preorders on ebay - like, what even is that? i mean, i get that it's a pretty hyped device and some folks are super eager to get their hands on it, but come on, it's not even available for purchase yet and already the resale market is popping up.
so, from what i've seen, valve has been sending out these kinda confusing emails about whether you're on the "queue" or the "waitlist" for the steam machine - like, what's the difference, right? anyway, apparently some people have already received confirmation that they're on the list, and now they're trying to sell their spots on ebay. and, of course, they're jacking up the prices - we're talking double the original price, which is already pretty steep, ranging from $1050 to $1430 depending on the model.
i was browsing through the listings, and i saw that some sellers are claiming they'll ship the steam machine to you as soon as they get it, which is supposed to be sometime in early july. but, like, be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it - the cheapest one i saw was sold for $1363.70, and the most expensive one was a whopping $3200. it's crazy to think that people are willing to pay that much for a device that they haven't even seen in person yet.
